State Council Bi-Elections 2017: Call for Nominations

30 August 2017 St John

Dear St John (NSW) Member,

STATE COUNCIL BI-ELECTIONS 2017: CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

State Council has an important role to play as the voice of all members. As you are aware our new Councillors were announced at the AGM on the 24th May 2017. The State Councillors were elected for a three-year term, as stated in the Constitution.

At the end of the last election there were four places left vacant as the number of nominations was less than the number of positions available. At the State Council Meeting held on the 3rd August 2017, the State Council resolved to hold a bi-election to fill the four vacant places. This is your opportunity to have your say, and nominate who you believe would represent you best in the following categories:

Regions:

  • One member to represent the Northern Region
  • One member to represent the Western Region;

Groups:

  • Two members aged between 18 and 25 years to represent Youth;

Please note that a member can be nominated for one category only. Representatives of Regions and Groups are nominated and voted for by all members of St John (NSW) over the age of 18 years.

State Council supports and fosters policies and regulations concerning members. It assists in maintaining traditions and assisting in ceremonial activities. It works closely with the NSW Board as a feedback mechanism on new member initiatives.

In order to add value to the business of St John, State Council needs to truly represent the diversity of our membership. So please take the time to nominate someone that you believe will add value to the future of our organisation.

The nomination, which must be completed in writing and signed by the member nominated and his/her proposer and seconder (all MUST be members of St John (NSW)), must be lodged with the Chief Executive Officer, St John Ambulance Australia (NSW), via post (9 Deane Street Burwood NSW 2134) or email (Belinda.Kent@stjohnsnw.com.au), by Wednesday 20 September 2017.

The member being nominated should provide, with the nomination, a short resume not exceeding fifty words giving details of his/her qualifications.

Please use the nomination form which you can access here.

Yours sincerely,

Philip Kimbell

Chief Executive Officer (Interim)
